Warli painting - India’s proudly Tribal Art

     Maharashtra is known for its folk Warli painting.Warli is the name of the largest tribe found on the northern outskirts of Mumbai in western India.Warli painting is the vivid expression of daily and social life of the Warli tribe, used by them embellish the walls of village house.Mostly women are engaged to creation of this Painting.

    Painted white on earthy red mud walls, they are pretty close to pre-historic cave paintings in e...xecution and usually depict scenes of human figures engaged in activities like hunting, dancing, sowing and harvesting.They used skewed bamboo sticks as brush and draw out with paste of rice powder with water as paints on the walls of warli people huts.The traditional warli painting red mud background with white paints.In Modern warli painting people are using different color background.


 

    Warli painting on paper and cloth are become very popular and sold all over India and international. This Paintings gained more market values because of this uniqueness and simplicity. In recent days we can see the Warli design in Indian dresses.
Warlipainting is the very good art to teach kids.They will really enjoy to do Art with stick figure and geometric patterns.Be sure to try this out with them.

Kerala Mural Painting

Kerala mural paintings are the frescos depicting Hindu Mythlogy and legends, which are drawn on the walls of temples and churches in South India. The murals palette consists of five colours namely, yellow, red, green, black and white, prepared from mineral pigments and vegetables. The themes are depicted using common iconographic symbols from the Puranas like Ramayana and Mahabharatafrom the Hindu myt hology.
