Georgia O’Keeffe - Flower Painting

"Nobody sees a flower really; it is so small. We haven’t time, and to see takes time – like to have a friend takes time.” – Georgia O’Keeffe

This week I want to introduce one of the famous American Artist Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986).She is a American abstract painter .O'Keeffe painted still lifes, massive flowers, the New York at Night series, southwestern landscapes and stark bones found in the desert. Instead of painting usual size of flowers she painted enlarged versions ...of a single flower, like what you would see if you were to look through a magnifying glass. Needless to say, this fascination resulted in some stunning painting and make her very famous. She has been recognized as a " Mother of American Modernism".

 I have done this workshop with my students , they all enjoyed and learned a new techniques.I also tried some of her paintings it was awesome and still i want to learn more.

Wycinanki, intricate paper cut-outs, has been a popular folk craft in Poland since the mid-19th century. They traditionally depicted scenes from daily life and were used to decorate cottages. In this workshop, kids tried the simple wycinanki designs with easy step by step instructions.  In Poland, the decorative cut-outs are mainly associated with two regions – Łowicz and Kurpie. The Kurpie cut-outs are made with a single sheet of paper and are thus totally symmetrical and only one colour. Those from the Łowicz area feature colourful designs built from layering the intricate cut-outs. Though traditionally hung as decorations in wi ndows, on walls, and from ceiling joints, today the classic designs are found everywhere. I have done this workshop to kids are aged 6 to 12 years old.. Kerala Mural Painting

Kerala mural paintings are the frescos depicting Hindu Mythlogy and legends, which are drawn on the walls of temples and churches in South India. The murals palette consists of five colours namely, yellow, red, green, black and white, prepared from mineral pigments and vegetables. The themes are depicted using common iconographic symbols from the Puranas like Ramayana and Mahabharatafrom the Hindu myt hology.

As an inspirational talent and personality, he was crucial in bringing its adherents together. Interested in painting in the open air and capturing natural light, Monet would later bring the technique to one of its most famous pinnacles with his series paintings, in which his observations of the same subject, viewed at various times of the day, were captured in numerous sequences. Masterful as a colorist and as a painter of light and atmosphere, his later work often achieved a remarkable degree of abstraction, and this has recommended him to subsequent generations of abstract painters. Kids have done wonderful work in the workshop.
